I had the distinct pleasure of photographing C and J's wedding several years ago. J's dad had retired from the Air Force and bought a golf course, which then prompted us to refer to her as "The Heiress". I worked with them for a quirky engagement session downtown where some Kung Fu Fighting may or may not have occurred, then we did J's bridal portraits on the greens of the golf course, and of course, we were there for the wedding. To this day, their wedding album is the one we use as a sample at the studio.
About a year ago, they contacted me to come photograph a Murder Mystery Dinner which they hosted, and it was so entertaining! They put a lot of effort and planning into the evening, and the photographs came out great.
Early this Spring, J and I met at the studio in Downtown Statesville to discuss a big project. She and her groom have begun the adoption process and their consultant had a list of nearly 100 photographs that she requested for their portfolio. J and I talked at length and brainstormed a few different sessions that would result in a well-rounded gallery of professional portraits that would presented to prospective birth mothers. After some further thought and discussion, we narrowed that down to one session with a few outfit changes.
We headed out to the beautiful property in North Iredell known as Allison Woods with the threat of rain overhead. They brought their dogs, who are already a huge part of their family, and we spent about an hour and a half photographing the two of them together, individually and with and without their pups. I'm proud to say that the rain held off and the result of our portrait session was a gorgeous gallery that will play a part in the addition of a brand new baby in their home. I could not be more proud to have been able to do this for them!
