Patrick and Sara

Finding a photographer for your wedding is an important step in the whole planning process. I always encourage the brides that I meet with to talk to several different photographers; it is so important to find one who you really connect with, not just whose style you like.

Patrick and Sara and I really hit it off during our first meeting, and I am so honored that they've selected me to be their wedding photographer. We had a super fun time during their engagement session at the beautiful Daveste Vineyards in Troutman, NC, and then I had the privilege of surprising them with a viewing of the session on a giant projection screen during "movie night" at our house!

I cannot WAIT for their wedding; it's going to be so much fun!
Here's one of my favorite photos from their engagement session. You can see more HERE.

I am so excited about all the weddings I have coming up this season, but I really love Casey and Markus! Casey is as sweet as she can be, and together, they are just so perfect!

I am posting several more sneak peeks to this Facebook album, but here's a teaser for you!

Riding for Rainbows 2012

I am so proud to have been the official event photographer for the 2nd annual Riding for Rainbows Bike Ride and 5k. This year's ride/walk was in memorial of Timmy Belcher, a brave young man who passed away last year after a battle with cancer. While I never got to know Timmy very well personally, I feel as if my family has many connections to his. He and my youngest son were in school together from the time Timmy was diagnosed until he could no longer attend, so it was always heartbreaking to hear of his struggles knowing how close in age he was to my own son.

Having been through the passing of my 16 year old cousin, Kollin, just a few months prior, Timmy's journey touched me even more as their journeys were similar. Both were very strong in their faith and trust in the Lord. Both left behind siblings, and both touched countless lives. You can see a bit about Kollin's story here.

As quoted from the Riding for Rainbows event page:

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit The Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County's (HPCIC) Rainbow Kidz Program.

The Rainbow Kidz program offers a variety of services to the child/adolescent community including supportive care, palliative care, hospice care, grief support, and pre-natal bereavement.  Their most recent achievement has been to begin to form support groups at local schools for children/adolescents who have experienced some type of loss.  However, the Rainbow Kidz program has the potential to reach and help so many more young people with the proper funding.  The only time that the Rainbow Kidz program receives any type of payment for their services is when they are providing hospice and/or palliative care to a patient.  But ability to pay does not at all factor into care.  The Rainbow Kidz program helps all youngsters in need regardless of ability to pay.  With that in mind, one can see why fundraising for this organization is so important.

You can check out the event photos from this year's Bike/Run at www.sheriallison.com/rainbow2012. I am offering prints, digital downloads, and CDs of all the photos at deeply discounted rates. Additionally, I will be donating 20% of all sales from these event photos to the HPCIC Rainbow Kidz program.

We had a lot of fun with this boudoir session in what will soon be my studio space! Located right in Downtown Statesville, it was a convenient location for us to meet since we live in separate ends of the county. It was a rainy, dreary day, but that proved to be no problem for us in this space!
